Name:Sally-Anne Perks
E-mail:britjannor@gmail.com
Bio:Full Name: Sally-Anne Elizabeth Perks
Nicknames: Sally. Hardly anyone ever called her Sally-Anne. Now nobody calls her much of anything at all.
Age/Birthday: 22/ May 4, 1980
House and Years Attended: Gryffindor, would have graduated with Harry Potter but she never returned to Hogwarts after her third year.
Blood Status: Muggleborn/Werewolf
Occupation (if applicable): Prisoner
Alliance: Neutral, will support the death eaters if they'll let her out
Status in Society (see the Available Characters page for options)*: Prisoner
Boggart: Fire
Patronus: Can't cast one.

Personality (include several weaknesses and strengths): The girl Sally was when she was last at school is long gone. She was a bubbly, intelligent, sociable girl back when she was in her first three years as a Ravenclaw. Her old friends wouldn't recognize Sally at all now. She's been in Azkaban since she was fourteen years old and that old personality has all but been eclipsed by the craziness brought on by dementors. Every now and then you can catch glimpses of the old Sally, but they're short and far between. She's incredibly easy to manipulate and will trust anyone who deigns to speak to her. The only visitor she's gotten in eight years have been people from the Ministry, recently Blanche, and Blanche is the only one who's never tortured her. She trusts her. She'll trust and do anything for anyone who says they can get her out of Azkaban. She's practically incapable of lying at this point. She was broken of the habit by interrogations by death eaters, too much torture. She hates being a werewolf, and at this point, she truly believes she stole her magic. She comes across as childlike because she never really progressed past the fourteen year old self. If anything, she regressed from that point. Everything is black and white, and it is the way she's told it is. If someone says she's wrong, she apologizes. If someone says she did good, she thanks them and feels proud. She's easily frightened and tends to curl into herself. She's physically very strong but is unaware of it and is scared of her werewolf side. Shifting in a cell for eight years can do that to a person. She shifts between extremes, happiness, sadness, and numbness. There's really no in between.

Family and Friends (list relationships with them):
Mother: Alison Perks, muggle, Sally killed her on her first full moon
Father: Damien Perks, muggle, Sally killed him, too
Brother: Bryce Perks, muggleborn, Sally killed him. He was thirteen, Hufflepuff
Appearance (paragraph minimum.): Sally is currently unkempt. Her hair is far too long and tangled, hasn't been cut in eight years and she has no way to brush it or put it up. She washes it in the water every few days, if she remembers. Her clothes long ago wore out and she's dressed in the gray pants and shirt provided to her by the guards. This pair is about to fall off of her as well. She's really thin, gaunt even, but she's lost the skeletal appearance. She's regained a bit of solidity over the years as her body adjusted to the diet. She's got a burn scar from the night her parents died all over the right side of her chest, up to the bottom of her neck, and over part of her right upper arm.
PB: Kayla Scoledario
Sexuality: She doesn't know. She's never explored it.
Achievements (OWLS, NEWTS, Animagus, Quidditch, etc.): None. She never made the quidditch team and wasn't in school long enough to achieve anything else.
Hobbies (Quidditch, Astronomy, Chess, Gob Stones): She likes to stare out the tiny window of her cell at the water going by. her favorite is when it's icy and the icebergs go by and bump against the bottom of the prison.

Hows Does Your Character Feel About Their Alliance: She will be loyal to anyone who can get her out of her cell. Unfailingly loyal because she KNOWS if she messes up, she goes back.
Are you will to have your character killed in game: If needed.

Biography (three paragraphs minimum):
Sally-Anne was born the first child of a lower-middle-class family in
Liverpool. Her dad was a dock worker and her mother worked in a factory. Sally and her younger brother, Bryce, never had much but they didn't want for anything, either. They had friends in the neighborhood, and everything was normal until Sally was seven years old and her mom wouldn't let her play with a candle. Somehow the little girl managed to light a neighbor kid's action figure on fire without any help whatsoever. Needless to say, her parents flipped out. After many hushed discussions about what was wrong with her, they never spoke of the incident again. Her brother's first show of magic came when he was nine. Sally got her Hogwarts letter on her eleventh birthday and everything suddenly made sense. It was difficult for her parents to believe at first, but a trip to Diagon Alley cleared up any doubt. She was off to Hogwarts.

Sally was sorted into Ravenclaw, where she made fast friends with her yearmates. She wasn't shy, she was sociable and friendly and bright. For three years, she had the time of her life. Her brother came the year after and was sorted into Hufflepuff, which meant they didn't get to see each other a lot. Still, she was happy, really, really happy. Summers were good, too. She got to see her family again and that was all a girl needed, school, friends and her family.

Then came the summer after third year. She'd just gotten out of school in June and was visiting with a friend from school for a couple of days. The girls were "camping out" in the woods behind the country house when Sally wandered off to find some more wood for the fire. The full moon shone above, casting silver light on all the trees. Suddenly, Sally was staring down an enormous wolf, snarling, saliva dripping from his long teeth. He didn't attack immediately, just circled her, as if sizing her up. Sally froze for an instant and then took off running, leaping for a tree branch to pull herself up out of reach. The wolf caught her ankle, drawing blood from a deep series of teeth marks. She went back to the campsite, shaken, but wrapped her ankle in a spare tee shirt and didn't say anything. She knew what had happened. It was a werewolf, and she couldn't tell a soul.

A month later, she locked herself in her room and braced for the worst. She hoped that she wouldn't turn, that she'd been mistaken, that she wasn't a werewolf. Unfortunately, her suspicions had been correct. The fourteen year old girl shifted into a reddish brown wolf as soon as the moon rose outside, and the lock on her door couldn't hold up to the strong animal slamming against it in a desperate fury to get out. That night, she attacked and killed her mother, father, and younger brother. She knocked a candle off the table in the living room, catching the drapes on fire, as well as her fur, resulting in the scars on her chest.

Sally doesn't remember much about this night at all. She was told she killed them by the aurors who came and took her away, but she can't recall anything but the flames. Over the years, the memory has mutated and she believes her family was burned by the fire.

The wizarding community was in transition at the time, moving toward Death Eater control. There wasn't a trial but there wasn't an announcement in the Prophet, just a hurried cover up. They couldn't find a place for the girl. She seemed violent and half-crazed, possibly from the trauma, but Mungo's wasn't a safe place for a werewolf either. Someone decided that Azkaban would be the "safest place" for her and everyone else. That's how Sally came to be a prisoner.

For the past eight years she's sat in the same cell. The guards have always scared her, always harassed her when they were bored. When the death eaters took over, she was interrogated since she was a muggleborn, at first to see if she knew anything and afterwards just for sport, when they were bored. Blanche is the first person who's spoken to her that hasn't hurt her yet. At this point, she'll do anything to get out.

Journal Sample (two paragraphs minimum):
I counted twenty days once. Twenty days when the sun rose and set and then it got cloudy and I couldn't tell any more so now I don't know what number I'm on. I think I'll start over at one. One because it's sunrise now, I can tell because the sun rises the direction my window faces and sets on the other side where I can't see. That means I can see out to the East. In the mornings it's really bright and I like it. It gets dark again after that, but I'm used to it. I've never had a journal before. I like to write, but I think my handwriting looks funny now. I thought maybe I had forgotten how but when I picked up the quill I remembered how to make letters.

I got a visit today from the dark-haired woman. I forgot her name, again, but I wish I could stop doing that. She's nice. She doesn't treat me like I'm bad, even though I am. She talks to me like I'm a human even though I'm not. I wish she could visit more often but I know she's really busy. I'll just draw pictures until she can come again.

RP Sample (two to three paragraphs minimum):
Sally woke to the rising sun. She slept underneath the wooden cot they provided, curled up in the cave-like shelter it provided beneath, back against the wall, wrapped as much as possible in the small, insufficient blanket to protect her from the chill. It was better than most days. It wasn't cold any more and she didn't wake up with her teeth chattering. The full moon was coming up though, she couldn't remember what day but she could feel it, and she was having more trouble sleeping. She tried to lay still, to pretend she was still dreaming for a moment when the light woke her but her muscles twitched, wanting to move.

She crawled out from under the bed and stretched, still on all fours, before getting to her feet and walking to the window. Her hair hung in lank, tangled waves down her back. She heard another prisoner call out but she knew better than to respond. It made the dementors come and they were already close. She could feel it. Maybe the moon was tonight. It felt really close, like she was about to slip her skin and become the wolf. When she shifted she was stuck in a cage that seemed even smaller than the prison cell really was. The wolf wanted to run. She hated shifting.

Sally picked up the food that appeared by her cell door and sat down in the far back corner to eat it, knees drawn up to her chest. She started to hum between bites, a song that had no real melody or source, just something stuck in her head. She heard footsteps and quieted. Maybe it was the dark-haired woman for another visit. She didn't dare get too hopeful, but she wrapped her arms around her knees and waited.

It was a guard. He leered at her from the doorway and she looked down, closing her eyes tightly hoping she could will him away. When she looked back up he was gone, marching down the hallway to the next occupied cell. Many of them were empty now after so many had been killed. It meant she got more attention. She didn't like it. The way the guards looked made her skin crawl, like bugs were under it.

She would do anything to get out of this place. Anything.
